I write better when I smoke. Don’t ask me to reduce it to a science.

Ubermensch, he calls himself. A reflection of his self-perception as someone who wields power without apology and dominates ‘lesser’ men. In reality, nothing but a betrayal of his shallow understanding of the concept.

In Thus Spake Zarathustra, where Nietzsche first enunciated the idea of an overman, Zarathustra argues that man as he is now is a condition to be bettered. Even more plainly put, Zarathustra considered it man’s duty to constantly strive to be greater than himself.

All beings so far have created something beyond themselves; and do you want to be the ebb of this great flood and even go back to the beasts rather than overcome man? What is the ape to man? A laughingstock or a painful embarrassment. And man shall be just that for the overman: a laughingstock or a painful embarrassment.

It was Nazi narcissim that corrupted this (ultimately self-evident) concept and turned it into an excuse to enslave and murder races deemed inferior to the Aryan. The Aryan man wielded power with glee and without remorse; and the Aryan man’s enslavement of lesser races was nothing more than the logical conclusion of the idea of domination.

That’s why weak men shudder at the very presence of an Ubermensch. And when they find a group of Ubermenschs ruling them, fear suddenly snatches them. That very act of surrendering one’s rights and liberties can be likened to death of the vilest of nature. For it corrupts the very core of men’s spirits, transforming them into slaves and robots.

Only a Nazi ubermensch would be comfortable – as the HPoS obviously is – with the idea of ‘ruling’ other men, and making them quake with fear. Only a Nazi ubermensch would take such glee in being scary enough to force men into the “very act of surrendering their rights and liberties” – a fate he likens to “death of the vilest nature.” Zarathustra’s overman is ultimately not about domination, but about the rejecton of mediocrity which Nietzsche saw as the predisposition of modern man; Zarathustra’s overman does not seek dominion over other men, therefore, only over himself. The HPoS?

Yes, power. Is it wrong to enjoy power? No. In our small nooks, we enjoy power. Power, as what a famed philosopher once said, is all about dominance. Of what, you would ask me? Well, its dominance on relationships. You can have power over your child. In the office, you have power over your underlings. Everyone, in one way or another, exercises some form of power over another.

He obviously revels in it.

When the HPoS calls himself an ubermensch, therefore, he might just as well call himself a Nazi. And to me, it is the Nazi himself who perfectly fits the (ironically) Nazi-formulated description of the untermensch:

The sub-human, that biologically seemingly complete similar creation of nature with hands, feet and a kind of brain, with eyes and a mouth, is nevertheless a completely different, dreadful creature … Within this creature there is a fearful chaos of wild, uninhibited passions, nameless destructiveness, the most primitive desires, the nakedest vulgarity. Sub-human, otherwise nothing. For all that bear a human face are not equal. Woe to him who forgets it.

After all, what is more primitive than the desire to exercise power over another? Far from being the overman, the HPoS unwittingly reveals that he is nothing more than an untermensch – the inferior underman who is not motivated by any nobler purpose than the possession and enjoyment of power.

Maceda sez Erap consulted Narvasa and others, and they told him that the 1987 Consti prohibits only the INCUMBENT prez from re-election. Former prezzies, by their definition, face no such prohibition. But in the same breath, Maceda also sez that they know an Erap candidacy will be the subject of a disqual case – but […]

I still think the Pangandaman’s shouldn’t have retaliated even if dela Paz threw the first punch. But is anyone really surprised at the escalation in the story-telling on both sides? BTW, I think we can dispense with the age angle nao.

Unless you’re spoiling for a fight, assume that the writer has some basis for what she writes. Don’t make like a lawyer and ask retarded questions in an attempt to lay the foundation for whatever point you’re trying to make.
